The 2023 Buick Envision is a compact SUV in a little niche of its own.

The Envision is the middle child in Buick’s three-SUV lineup, positioned between the smaller Encore and the larger Enclave. It’s a two-row SUV offering a more premium look and a bit more luxury than traditional SUVs from manufacturers like Toyota or Volkswagen. When compared to luxury rivals, the Envision is priced lower and boasts superior fuel economy. It also comes standard with a generous list of features and provides plenty of comfort.

Driving Impressions:
The Buick approach puts comfort above sportiness. That’s certainly true of the 2023 Envision SUV. The 228-horsepower engine works well for everyday duties and leisurely road trips. Fuel economy is good, and the 9-speed automatic transmission shifts gears with subtlety and refinement. The All-wheel drive creates more confidence in bad weather.

Envision proves itself capable in terms of performance and comfort, and represents a step in the right direction for Buick. It’s attractively designed and exudes understated class, making a strong statement. The best value in the lineup is the midrange Essence trim, which offers the most important luxury features, including a larger infotainment system and heated leather seats.
