Power is delivered to all four wheels via an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT). Although it doesn’t have gears, it simulates shifts as it climbs the rev range to make it feel more familiar. This is a nicely tuned CVT that doesn’t have the whine of some similar transmissions, and it’s part of what makes the CR-V so fuel-efficient.

The ride quality is smooth and comfortable. The seats are supportive and comfy enough for long-distance cruising, the daily commute, and everything in between.

The Honda CR-V benefits from one of the roomiest interiors in its class. There is plenty of room for both passengers and cargo. The back seats have legroom similar to a midsize sedan, and there’s a big cargo hold to boot. Cargo space gets even bigger when you fold down the back seats.
