Distinctive and individual, a true Range Rover in compact form.
The 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque blazes its own trail, with a sleek, low-slung look that marks a radical departure from other Land Rover vehicles. Yet, despite its non-SUV-like appearance, the little Evoque is still a Land Rover at heart, every bit as capable off-road as it is on.
The all-wheel-drive Evoque has several characteristics that set it apart from the competition. Perhaps the most notable is its interior, which features excellent build quality, fine materials and pleasing aesthetics. The Evoque’s interior is stunning, with soft-touch materials, brushed aluminum trim and an automatic gear selector that rises out of the center console. The interior of the 2018 Range Rover Evoque is a visual masterpiece and extremely comfortable.
The Range Rover Evoque is in fact an actual Land Rover, with unexpectedly good capability when the tires leave paved roads. An adjustable drive mode allows the driver to choose among Mud, Sand, Snow and other terrains with the flick of a switch. While it lacks the low-range gearing of its bigger brothers, it’s definitely more capable than you might expect for something as stylish as this. Around town the Evoque’s firm suspension and sharp steering make it feel like a sports sedan.
ACTIVE DRIVELINE 4WD – The Evoque is all-wheel drive (AWD) up to 22 mph. Then it switches to front-wheel-drive (FWD) mode to save fuel, the Range Rover equivalent of sipping tea with an extended pinkie. If the system detects low traction, it immediately redirects torque to the rear wheels to enhance traction.
TERRAIN RESPONSE SYSTEM – The Evoque’s Terrain Response system lets you choose among several different modes depending on the prevailing conditions. Select Snow, Sand or Trail modes, and the throttle input, suspension settings, and other systems alter to best enhance traction for the given condition.
The Evoque starts with a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder that puts out a zippy 237 horsepower and comes mated to a class-leading adaptive shift program enhanced nine-speed automatic, controlled by the coolest knurled metal rotating dial selector ever and can be shifted with steering wheel mounted paddles.
The Evoque is one of the sharpest handling vehicles in the luxury compact crossover segment.
LAND ROVER INCONTROL® REMOTE APP: InControl Remote provides information on your vehicle and enables you to interact with it remotely. Compatible with most Android™ and Apple iOS®smartphones, this service allows you to lock/unlock the doors, remotely preheat/precool the vehicle using the climate control function and remote engine start, or find your Land Rover faster by using the Beep and Flash feature.
Cool Fact: The 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque’s new turbocharged four-cylinder engine is shared with a number of vehicles including the newly released Jaguar E-Pace crossover.
The Evoque remains the most ideally proportioned and arguably best looking subcompact SUV on the market, none of its direct peers match the little Evoque for driving dynamics. Spend a little time with an Evoque and you’ll quickly appreciate how it managed to notch up more than 165 international awards since inception. This is a superb little SUV!
