FOUR WHEELER®: 4×4 of the Decade
2017 Jeep Wrangler is still one of the best go-anywhere, do-anything vehicles that money can buy.
Of all the new vehicles on sale for 2017 you’d be hard-pressed to find one that’s more of a throwback than the 2017 Jeep Wrangler. It adheres to its original design more than probably anything else on the road, and for Jeep purists, that’s just the way they like it. The Wrangler two -door is an off-road-friendly SUV that makes very few compromises for comfort. Sure, it can connect your iPhone via Bluetooth or tune you into satellite radio if you please, but the Wrangler’s main mission in life is to get you places that standard crossovers or SUVs just can’t go.
With all that said, somehow, we’d still recommend the Wrangler. It has undeniable charm and is one of the few vehicles left that won’t nickel and dime you with creature comforts you might not want. It also holds its value surprisingly well, even many years later.
Every 2017 Jeep Wrangler is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that produces 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Four-wheel drive is standard and includes high- and low-range gearing.
There are several vehicles wearing Jeep’s sacred logo, but to the faithful there is only one that matters, the vehicle in the ever-expanding family that most resembles the rugged no-frills, go-anywhere, do-anything ethos of the World War II original. As such, the Wrangler rolls along a very cautious evolutionary line. Powertrain updates are generally welcomed by Wranglerites, but interior and exterior changes that move the vehicle’s character toward civilization too rapidly are viewed with suspicion and even outright rejection.
The Jeep Wrangler is a throwback to the brand’s earliest days as a military supplier. Whether by chance or by design, the purpose-built off-roader has endured decades and has become one of Jeep’s best-selling vehicles.
The current Wrangler looks a whole lot like the Wranglers that came before it, and the older Jeeps that came before that. It’s ripe with military heritage and go-anywhere parentage, and there’s just nothing else that looks like it.
The lineage of the Jeep Wrangler is unparalleled. Few vehicle have such an unmistakable look.
The 2017 Jeep Wrangler is a unique off-roader bolstered by the freedom of open air driving.
Capability without compromise. That’s what Wrangler drivers count on, and for over 75 years, the Jeep® brand has delivered. As part of Canada’s most capable SUV brand, Wrangler is renowned for taking riders on a serious exploration of worldly wilds, while maintaining the poise to deliver a comfortable driving experience from trails to city streets. Wrangler is powered by Canada’s Best-Selling engine, the iconic 3.6L Pentastar Variable Valve Timing (VVT) V6, a three-time Wards “10 Best Engines” winner. Wrangler delivers unsurpassed towing capability so you can bring along even more fun.
The Jeep brand reigns as Canada’s Best-Selling line of SUVs, and Wrangler stands tall as the favourite 4×4 with the determination to take you places others only dream of reaching.
